On Saturday, November 11, 2017, the GW Undergraduate Consulting Group (UCG) launched the Inaugural Fall Case Competition, where 15 teams of 3–4 students competed. Won Seok Han, a GWSB undergraduate senior and KMI program coordinator, won first place.
On Friday, November 10, 2017, the Corean Undergraduate Business Organization (CUBO) successfully launched its second series of CUBOxTED, delivered by Jang Yong Lee, a senior IT officer, recounting how he launched his first job in a celebrated consulting firm.
KMI-sponsored CUBOxKISO monthly lecture series event (September 15, 2017) with Heenam Choi, Deputy Minister for International Affairs of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance (formerly with the IMF), drawing 50+ students from GW, Georgetown, and Johns Hopkins SAIS. Conducted in Korean.
The ICSB MSMEs Summit at the United Nations HQ on May 11, 2017, following the UN General Assembly's April 6, 2017 resolution designating June 27 as Micro-, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Day, co-sponsored by 45 member states. Prince Constantijn Van Oranje of the Netherlands joined via video.
KMI Knowledge Forum talk by Dr. Ayman El Tarabishy titled 'What is Entrepreneurship?', covering the difference between innovation and creativity, the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and disruptive technology (with the example of built-in camera phones ending the digital camera market).
GW-CIBER Global Business Forum talk by Henry Yeung (Provost's Chair and Professor of Economic Geography, National University of Singapore), based on his book 'Strategic Coupling: East Asian Industrial Transformation in the New Global Economy', examining state-firm relations and global production network dynamics in South Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore.

Pilot 'ICSB Korea–USASBE Research Matching Program' at the USASBE 2016 Conference ('Entrepreneurship Everywhere'), bringing together ten researchers from South Korea and ten from the US matched by research interests to promote knowledge exchange and cross-cultural dialogue on Korean management best practices.
KMI Seminar Series follow-up talk by Mr. Chang Kyu Kim on 'Korea Trade and Industrial Policy: System Exporter in New Economy', presenting three examples of Korea as a system exporter: the Sugil natural gas project in Uzbekistan, the Barakah nuclear power plant in the UAE, and a digital hospital project in Saudi Arabia.

The George Washington University launched a seven-week intensive Lean Startup technology commercialization program for teams of Korean researchers, managed by Jim Chung. KMI supported the initiative through faculty support and promotion.
The new Korean Management Institute (KMI) at GWSB hosts a senior delegation of more than 20 Korean business leaders, including CEOs from several Korean Fortune 100 companies, to discuss mutually beneficial projects and programs. The GWSB delegation included Dr. Yoon Park (international finance), Dr. Paul Swiercz (chair of Management), Dr. George Jabbour (associate dean of executive development), and Dr. Ayman Tarabishy.
