USASBE 2016 ICSB Korea Research Matching Program

Saturday, January 9, 2016
In 2015, under the leadership of ICSB President Ki-Chan Kim, ICSB pledged to bridge the dialogue between Asian scholars and their Western counterparts. At the USASBE 2016 Conference, themed 'Entrepreneurship Everywhere,' ICSB brought together a group of Korean and American scholars for the pilot 'ICSB Korea-USASBE Research Matching Program.' The main goal is to promote knowledge exchange and cross-cultural dialogue. The program brings ten researchers from South Korea and ten from the United States, matched based on research interests, to merge relevant topical areas, research methodologies, and datasets. A common research area was Korean management best practices, specifically for high tech firms and implications for U.S.-based entrepreneurs. The Meet and Greet on January 9, 2016 opened by Drs. Jeff Hornsby and Alex DeNoble, followed by introductions from Dr. Ayman El Tarabishy (ICSB Executive Director) and Dr. KwangTae Park (President of KASBS). Research topics included technology innovation capability on technology commercialization, resource acquisition and performance of new ventures, entrepreneurship pedagogy, SNS activity and firm value, and K-entrepreneurship. ICSB plans to continue this program at the ICSB 2016 World Conference.
