Title: What is Entrepreneurship? Speaker: Dr. Ayman El Tarabishy, Associate Professor at GWSB, Executive Director of KMI and ICSB. On Friday, April 14, 2017, the Korean Management Institute presented a knowledge forum on 'What is Entrepreneurship?' Just flying from South Korea the night before, Dr. Tarabishy shared an amusing experience — he was surprised to learn there is a night market called 'Yashijang' in Dongdaemun that starts at 10 PM and continues until sunrise — a representation of how dynamic and passionate Korean culture and people are, and why he studies Korean management style. After the presentation on the difference between innovation and creativity, Gyujin Shin (a GWSB Information Systems Technology graduate student) asked whether Korean global conglomerates like Samsung and Hyundai are innovative. The professor shared a valuable conversation with one of Samsung's CEOs about Samsung's goal and strategy in this rapidly changing world. Dr. Tarabishy urged the audience to prepare for the incoming wave of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which will fuse different technologies and blur the lines between different parameters. He mentioned how disruptive technology can shatter an existing market and create a whole new one — advancing built-in camera phone technology brought the demise of the digital camera market.
