On Friday, November 10, 2017, the Corean Undergraduate Business Organization (CUBO) successfully launched its second series of CUBOxTED. This was a follow-up lecture to the previous one, and was delivered by Jang Yong Lee, a senior IT officer at The World Bank Group (WBG) as well as the president of Korean Staff Association (KSA), an organization that involves Korean employees at the WBG and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for the purpose of networking and information sharing.
With his humble but compelling voice, Mr. Lee set off the lecture with an anecdote on how he launched his first job in a celebrated consulting firm. Then he shared valuable insights on how he managed to transfer his career from private enterprises to the international organization. The key takeaway from the lecture was the hiring process of international organizations and how one can successfully launch his or her career at those institutions.
Followed the lecture was a 30-minute Q&A session, and students from both undergraduate and graduate schools who are passionate about working in these organizations enthusiastically asked questions encompassing broad ranges of topics. The lecture ended with a group photo with Mr. Lee and all of the attendees.
Special thanks to Mr. Lee who was willing to give his own time for the improvement of GW Korean students!
